When the Moss Brothers get together we are never quite sure what is going to emerge. Ian sings and provides the words, Neil writes the music and plays the instruments.

And here is the release of a new seven-track collection under a new name - Mistletoe. The two siblings have previously released material with us under a variety of other names too numerous to mention at this stage - all will be revealed on our website in due course.

This time around the mood is both sombre and reflective, as well as hopeful. Synthesizers surge and meander, keyboards play complex lines, and guitars shuffle and scrape around the soundscape in a style which mixes jazz, progressive rock, alternative pop, and ambient genres.

There is a balance of instrumental pieces from Neil which act as both catalyst and companion for the other material with Ian’s vocals. There is an innocence embedded in some of the material - the wonky pop of “Speed” reveals childhood experiences with bicycles, “The Big Bad Moose” metaphorically celebrates escaping the intensity of city life to a rural idyll. Ian’s darker side is revealed with the menacing “Another Drop” a triumph of repressed violent intent.

Ian is the vocalist for Four Candles, as well as a member of The Parasite. Neil has previously released material with us as Nemo. As with previous releases from the brothers Neil’s wife Gaynor makes a guest appearance.
